Factors Associated With Accessibility To Credit Among Poultry Egg Marketers In Oyo State

Abstract
This study investigated the factors associated with accessibility to credit among poultry egg marketers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Two-stage sampling technique was used to select 110 respondents. Data were collected on socio-economic characteristics of the egg marketers and sources of credit available to respondents. Data collected were analyzed using the Descriptive and inferential statistical tools. The results of analyses showed that female gender is more (91.8%) involved in poultry egg marketing than the male counterpart. Average age of the respondents was 40.7 years. Many (88.2%) of the respondents are married with average household size of 4.73. The mean year of experience was 8.94 while 67% of respondents had no access to credit from any source, so they depended on personal savings. Factors influencing accessibility to credit among respondents were found to be the marketing experience and sales volume.
