GEODEMOGRAPHICAL EVOLUTIONS IN DÂMBOVITA COUNTY BETWEEN 1992-2004

Abstract

The demographic analysis of Dâmbovita County between 1992-2003, taking into account the numerical evolution, the dynamics of the population with its main indicators – birth rate, death rate and natural growth of the population –, shows the demographic decline of the county, due to the general process of transition that took place in Romania after 1990. Given the general changes at the national level, especially the economic and social ones (economic restructuring, demographic policy, continuous decrease of the standard of living), owing to a more and more reduced natural growth of the number of the population, the population of Dâmboviţa County registers a decrease of about 20000 inhabitants.
