Abstract
Tomando como punto de partida un número de la revista Nature dedicado a la Esquizofrenia, este artículo analiza los conceptos básicos necesarios para investigar los Imaginarios sociales utilizados en la Psiquiatría para construir las realidades de la Enfermedad mental en nuestra sociedad compleja policontextuRal. El sistema biotecnológico y la industria farmacológica contribuyen en esa construcción aportando al Imaginario de la Enfermedad Mental elementos coherentes con un modelo médico y sembrando dudas sobre los intereses económicos y los efectos secundarios. Lejos de entender un sistema social como coherente, la complejidad social donde la biotecnología se desarrolla e implanta, se construye en la contradicción, la incoherencia de la percepción social desde el Imaginario social. Este artículo aporta las bases conceptuales para describir la compleja incoherencia, usando las teorías de N.Luhmann y J. L. Pintos, en la que la realidad de la Enfermedad mental es construida socialmente desde el Imaginario.
