Innovation activity and economic development of voivodeships of Poland

Abstract
The aim of this article was identification and a study of the correlation between innovation activity and economic development of voivodeships of Poland and showing the positions of various regions in terms of the analyzed variables. As all the examined variables are latent, the author used soft model to determine the relations among them. Soft model was estimated using data for Polish voivodeships in 2010. The estimation results showed a strong and statistically significant impact of innovation activity on the level of economic development.
