Leveraging Map Reduce With Hadoop for Weather DataAnalytics
Journal Title: IOSR Journals (IOSR Journal of Computer Engineering) - Year 2015, Vol 17, Issue 3
Abstract
Abstract : Collecting, storing and processing of huge amounts of climatic data is necessary for accurateprediction of weather. Meteorological departments use different types of sensors such as temperature, humidityetc. to get the values. Number of sensors and volume and velocity of data in each of the sensors makes the dataprocessing time consuming and complex. Leveraging MapReduce with Hadoop to process the massive amountof data. Hadoop is an open framework suitable for large scale data processing. MapReduce programming modelhelps to process large data sets in parallel, distributed manner. This project aims to build a data analytical enginefor high velocity, huge volume temperature data from sensors using MapReduce on Hadoop.
