Modeling green economy in the Podlaskie Province as a management tool sustainable development of the region

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to present the soft model of green economy in the Podlaskie Province, showing a relation between management, the society and the environment. In Poland and in the world, extensive research has been conducted as to sustainable development, with particular attention paid to the role of the natural environment in this concept. The soft model constructed under the article shows the extent to which the quality of the natural environment affects the economic and social development of the Podlaskie Province. Specification of the model has been made on the basis of the neoclassical theory of ecologically sustainable growth. Parameters estimated with the partial method of the smallest squares have been verified substantively and statistically. The model of green economy in the Podlaskie Province indicates both the factors which can boost development of this region in the future, as well as the barriers to its development.
