Should Great Britain still benefit from „rebate” in contributions to European Union budget?

Abstract
The article presents the evolution of UK rebate and examines its impact on some Member States’ net positions in relation to EU budget in the years 1985 – 2010. Analysis shows that UK rebate complicates the EU own resources system, however improves significantly the position of UK in relation to the budget and other Member States, but changes the situation of other Member States in different ways. Abolishing the rebate and other allowances for Member States will improve the transparency of EU own resources, however will not solve the problem of growing disproportions of some Members in relation to EU budget.
