Journal Title: Journal of Evolution of Medical and Dental Sciences - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 52
Abstract
A solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is an unusual spindle cell neoplasm that usually occurs in the pleura but has been described in diverse extrapleural sites. Herein we report a case of solitary fibrous tumor of kidney in a 60 year old female which was clinically suspected as renal cell carcinoma but proved to be solitary fibrous tumor histopathologically and was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. We report this case because of its rarity and to discuss the important differentials that has to be considered in a case of renal mass.
