The effect of different scheduling methods of observation and practice on form and accuracy learning of a discrete skill among none-beginner people
Journal Title: Applied Science Reports - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The objective of conducting this study is to investigate the effect of three different methods of scheduling observation and practice on form and accuracy learning of jump basketball shot skill. Among female students of university, that have basketball practice at least in the past 3 years‚ 51 students were selected randomly and divided randomly in 3 groups including 17 students. Measurement tools: list of evaluation of practice from and accuracy and instruction film. In total demonstration method, subjects received all of observation including 10 demonstrations before practicing and after that they exercised 30 shots. In interspersed demonstration method, subjects received one demonstration and then they practiced 3 shots for 10 time and in combination demonstration, the subjects received one demonstration before practicing and 5 demonstration in periodic way with practice. 15 other shots were practiced after final demonstration. Descriptive statistics, analytic statistic such as on-way analysis of variance and tukey test and analysis of variance with repeated measurements .Results of this study showed that there is no significant difference among three methods based on accuracy and form of performance the skill in acquisition stage᷂ but in retention stages the total observational method showed better form and accuracy than interspersed method. Also, performance form of skill decreased in short-term retention than acquisition stage in total and interspersed demonstration methods. Present study shows that combinational demonstration method for learning skill as one of learning basis among none-beginners is a more suitable method.
