THE SOIL – FORMING PROCESSES THAT CONTRIBUTED TO THE FORMATION AND EVOLUTION OF THE SOILS FROM THE PICIOR DE MUNTE PLAIN

Abstract

Inside the Picior de Munte Plain, the bioaccumulation, eluviation-illuviation, specific weathering, gleyzation-stagnation-gleyzation and vertic processes had a very important role in the formation of soil cover. The bioaccumulation is a general process, characteristical for all the soils. The eluviation -illuviation processes determined the formation of the albic luvosols, that are very spread inside the Picior de Munte Plain. Weathering is a general process, that takes part in all the soils formation. But there are some cases when the weathering leads to the formation of some specific horizons, like the B cambic horizon (Bv), characteristical for typical eutricambosols and alluvic eutricambosols.. The gleyzation and stagno-gleyzation processes are typical for the gleysols in the rivers plains and for the stagno-sols formed on the clayey lands, with global imperfect drainage. The vertic processes are typical for the soils formed on clayey layings with swelling character, such as (in the researched area) the vertic subtypes of the soils in the luvisols class.
