Use of Open Source Software in Engineering
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Research in Computer Engineering & Technology(IJARCET) - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
The term Open Source Software (OSS) is widely described with the software that is available with its source code and a licensed to redevelop and redistributes it. Todays open source softwares are widely used for every field of computer, business and management because of its many features over proprietary software. This research paper describes the use of open source software instead of proprietary software in the field of engineering because open source software is cheaper than proprietary software and they also have ability to modify by user according to their need for maximization of performance.

Image segmentation based on kernel fuzzy C means clustering using edge detection method on noisy images
Classical fuzzy C-means (FCM) clustering is performed in the input space, given the desired number of clusters. Although it has proven effective for spherical data, it fails when the data structure of input pattern...
Image Edge Detection: A Review
Edge detection is important part of image processing for object detection. So it becomes extremely important to have a good understanding of edge detection algorithms. An edge is the real or imagined line that marks t...
Implementation on FPGA for Tuned Low Complexity Modified Curve Fitting Algorithm
An effort is made to minimize the arithmetic intricacy of signal by using the VHDL module on FPGA. A curve fitting algorithm is used for finding the fundamental frequency of a given signal. Modification of algorithm is r...
Implementation of Radix-4 Multiplier with a Parallel MAC unit using MBE Algorithm
t— A radix-4/-8 multiplier is implemented using modified booth multiplier encoder that demand high speed and low energy operation. Depending on the input pattern, the multiplier operates in the radix-8 mode in 56%...
A Review Paper on Face Recognition Techniques
Face recognition has been a fast growing, challenging and interesting area in real time applications. A large number of face recognition algorithms have been developed in last decades. In this paper an attempt is...
