Nervous system impairment under systemic lupus erythematosus: pathogenesis aspects, prevalence and views on clinical manifestations classification
Journal Title: Український неврологічний журнал - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease that involves almost all organ systems. The nervous system in this case is not an exception, which is confirmed by the high prevalence of neurological symptoms in patients suffering from this disease. However, the problems of the pathogenetic mechanisms of the onset of these manifestations are still controversial, which is due to the great variety of possible factors that can affect nervous system and their complex interaction with each other, the presence of concomitant pathology in these patients. This question, in turn, dictates the need to consider a clear classification of neurological manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus.
