New concept of fiber reinforced shotcrete for geotechnical applications

Abstract
The article proposed to use the specific surface area of the fibers to calculate the tensile strength of the fiber reinforced concrete and shotcrete. Graphs of the tensile strength dependences on the fiber diameter and length are plotted; the range of diameters at which smooth fibers will not be pulled out is established. Other ways of tensile strength increase of fiber reinforcement shotcrete were analyzed. It is proposed to use separate erection of shotcrete and the fibers in order to create a technology of ferrocement layers erection. There are named issues, which are needed to be solved in order to implement proposed method of reinforcement.
