NEW DATA ON THE OCCURRENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF [i]SCYTODES THORACICA [/i](LATREILLE, 1802) (ARANEAE) IN POLAND WITH NOTES ON THE BIOLOGY OF THE SPECIES

Abstract
[i]Scytodes thoracica [/i]is the only representative of the family Scytodidae, commonly known as spitting spiders, recorded from Poland. Its first and hitherto the only published record from Poland dates from 1999. Here we present new data on the occurrence of [i]S. thoracica [/i]in south, south-western and central parts of the country. The findings suggest that the species is expanding its range both northward and eastward. The results of observations on a female collected in Wrocław are presented.
