Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the role of chosen resources (corporate real estate) in design- ing business models of FMCG sector. The hypothesis states that companies (from one sector), trying to achieve high effectiveness and create customer value employ different business models based on different resources and their combination. To verify the hypothesis, the authors carried out the research on companies from retail sector listed during 2009-2012 on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The research method was case study analysis. As a result of research it is possible to state that there is one business model referring to usage of real estate but there are two different ways of achieving it: emerging and planned one.
