Non-Linear FEA Analysis of a Drive Shaft Made Of Composite Material Using Ansys
Journal Title: International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology (IJRASET) - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 7
Abstract
an automobile drive shaft is used to transmit torque from the gear box to differential. A drive shaft is subjected to different types of loadings like bending load, torsional load, impact load and fatigue load. To survive under these loading a drive shaft has to have high module but at the same time mass of the drive shaft should not be high. These properties of material are readily found in composite materials. So it is very much advantageous in substituting drive shaft made of conventional isotropic or alloy material with composite material for its higher specific stiffness and strength. In the present work a drive shaft made of high modulus carbon/epoxy composite material in numerical software named ANSYS. Further the drive shaft has been tapered with different taper angle and then it has been simulated in ANSYS for buckling analysis and modal analysis. Lastly different results have been compared.

Optimum Modulation Index Selection in Multilevel Inverter Using Selective Harmonic Elimination
In this project, a multilevel inverter was designed and implemented to operate a stand-alone solar photovoltaic system. The proposed system uses selective harmonics elimination pulse-width modulation (PWM) in the multil...
Novel Switched-Capacitor Inverter Using Series/Parallel Conversion For 11-Level
In this paper Switched capacitor (SC) inverter is employed to amend high output voltage than the input voltage with minimal number of switches. A new series/parallel topology is proposed this require switches and capaci...
Flow visualisation at the nozzle fitted in a square section test duct by Particle Image Velocimetry system
The objective of this experimental work is to investigate the flow at the nozzle in a square section test duct by Particle Image Velocimetry system. The two components of the velocity i.e. velocity field in a plane, vor...
Synthesis and Analysis of MR Fluids for High Yield Stress
Magneto Rheological fluids consist of micron sized magnetizable particles dispersed in a carrier liquid. In the offstate, these MR fluids behave similar to Newtonian fluids, having an apparent viscosity in the range of 0...
