Nonlinear model of frictional impact of rigid body with rigid rough plane

Abstract

Dynamics of reduced to the first order chain vibratory impact system with Coulomb friction is investigated. This system is suggested as a model of phenomena that occur under oblique impact of rigid body with perfectly rigid rough plane. Multiple impacts with friction were investigated by using of Routh approach. It was considered that every impact consists of two consecutive stages. First stage is motion without contact between chain vibratory impact system and rough rigid plane. Second stage is slipping motion with Coulomb friction of chain vibratory impact system on rough rigid plane. It was shown that possibility of complete damping of oscillations in chain vibratory impact system depends on time between two consecutive impacts.
