Nowe ujęcie testów toksyczności spalin autobusów miejskich

Abstract
The article discusses a new approach to urban buses exhaust emission tests. Tests related to the fuel consumption assessment of urban buses were presented, which were additionally used to determine the vehicles environmental indicators. Unified testing procedures have been analyzed in terms of vehicle and engine operating time density, and a mathematical apparatus was used to verify the proportion of their operating time relative to the actual operating conditions of urban buses on city bus lines. The novelty of the proposed analysis lies in isolating the vehicle stop and engine idling time on their operating characteristics. This is a new approach, that allows to distinguish between these vehicle (or engine) operating states, and compare them with the actual driving conditions. This new approach also allows for making a comparison of exhaust emissions with regard to the specific operating conditions of various types of drive systems used in urban buses.
