Numerical model of solidification of cast composite with particles
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2010, Vol 1, Issue 5
Abstract
In the paper the numerical model of heat transfer in non-homogeneous domain (cast composite) is considered. The composite is formed by the spherical particles (Pb) and the metal matrix (Al). Initial temperatures of components correspond to solid state (particle) and liquid one (matrix). The heat is transferred from the aluminum matrix and absorbed by the lead particle. The 3D problem, i.e. the cubic control volume with single spherical particle located at the center part of the cube, is considered. A numerical algorithm corresponding to the discussed mathematical model of the boundary-initial problem is constructed on the basis of control volume method and some examples of numerical results are shown.

ANALYSIS OF STRESS IN STEEL AND CONCRETE IN CFST PUSH-OUT TEST SAMPLES
The paper presents the analysis of stress in steel and concrete in CFST composite elements subjected to push-out tests. Two analytical models of stress distribution are presented. The bond at the interface between steel...
INFLUENCE OF SILICA FUME ADDITION ON SELECTED PROPERTIES OF FINE-GRAINED CONCRETE
The article presents the results of laboratory tests of selected mechanical and physical properties of fine-grained concrete. The tests were carried out on samples with varying degrees of microsilica addition. The consis...
Non-stationary heat transfer in two-phase hollow cylinder with functionally graded effective material properties with second kind of boundary conditions
The unidirectional non-stationary heat conduction in two-phase hollow cylinder is considered. The conductor is made of two-phase stratified composites and has a smooth gradation of effective properties in the radial dire...
Modernisation of historic housing complexe in Pyskowice
In an Upper Silesian town Pyskowice, there are three urban complexes: a historic centre with traditionally arranged medieval buildings, a housing complex built before World War II for the needs of railway workers and a h...
