O uso da análise da informação nos processos de indexação para o contexto do cordel

Abstract
In a society surrounded by information, it is essential to have it organized with a view to information retrieval. Therefore, procedures that involve information treatment are necessary in order to make it accessible reliably and quickly. Increasingly, in various ways, the idea that we need to get information on low cost and time have arisen in social relations. This logic follows the pattern of the users of the Library of Rare Books Atila Almeida, in particular, regarding the search for their “cordéisâ€, an outstanding collection of more than 17,729 copies, the largest in the world. Thus, the aim of this article is to identify within information analysis, a procedure that involves the informational treatment, their contribution to the practice of indexing collections of “cordelâ€. This analysis further aims to ensure the technical quality regarding the thematic description, an invariably substantial aspect in information retrieval. The methodology was based on the practice of indexing 1,400 “cordéis†and readings of texts that involve information analysis. Presenting procedures revealed its relevance as an inherent part of the process of indexing and hence aiding in recovery issues. In conclusion, the practice of information analysis proved to be as effective as useful in the process of representing information, particularly in the allocation extraction of the terms “cordéis†deal with.
