Abstract

The working place and working environment can be risk factors, which are directly infl uencing health and safety of work, as well as working capacity of workers, by decreasing it and inducing lack of satisfaction of work. Data from recent investigations show signifi cant increase of the relative part of the diseases of the loco - motor system, connected with work. The aim of the present study is to investigate the most frequent occupational ergonomic factors, which can infl uence the health of the workers. The study covers 17 different objects of the industrial sphere, trade, services, transport and construction. A questionnaire is held over 546 workers, chosen on a casual principle, for the most common ergonomic factors, as a subjective evaluation of the convenience of the working position and ergonomics of the working place. The results show that approximately 80% of the questioned people have constant working places, as there is no signifi cant difference between persons, working standing or in sitting position. The physical conditions of the working place defer signifi cantly to the imposed rhythm of work, which determines monotonousness and over tension of different muscle groups. Only approximately 14% of the workers, fi nd that the conditions of their working place are comfortable and have no health complaints, connected to the performed work. Almost 1/3 of the questioned workers feel discomfort, which they connect with their working place and the performed work. The most frequent complaints, which are connected with the concrete work, are back pain, pain in extremities, headache. The results show certain undervaluation of the ergonomic conditions of work, which have signifi cant infl uence over health and working capacity of the workers.
