Ocena cech biologicznych oraz plonowania wybranych odmian Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis i Phleum pratense w siewach czystych i mieszankach

Journal Title: Łąkarstwo w Polsce - Year 2016, Vol 19, Issue

Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate some biological characteristics and yield of some grass varieties during four years of utilization. The study was conducted in the years 2010–2014 on the experience of a randomized block with four replications at the Collection of Cultivated Plants in SGGW. The aim of this study was to estimate yielding of 6 varieties of 3 grass species – Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis, Phleum pretense in pure stands and two meadow mixtures differentiated in earliness. Three cuts were made. The first one was made in full of heading phase, in pure stands – of individual varieties and in mixtures – of varieties dominated in sward. D.glomerata var. Amera entered cutting whereas Phl. pretense varieties were the latest (14 days of difference). The rate of growth of grass from spring to the first cut varied depending on the species and the course of weather conditions; D. glomerata have the highest average daily increase in the height of the sward in comparison to other species. Varieties of D. glomerata and Phl. pratense in the 4-year use yielded better compared to the varieties of F. pratensis due to the formation of more generative shoots with high weight and better sodding. Yielding of meadow mixes of different phenological type was very diverse in the years and depended on the botanical composition, the share of individual components as well as weather conditions. Varieties of F. pratensis and Phl. pratense belong to the short-term and sensitive to unfavorable weather conditions components.
