On a methodological approach to the problem of quantitative risk as-sessment for space hardware development projects (Part I)
Journal Title: Технічна механіка, Техническая механика, Technical Mechanics - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The aim of this work is to construct a theoretical basis for the development of methods, algorithms, and software for quantitative assessment of new space hardware development project risks that are due to uncertainty factors. The presented methodological approach to quantitative risk assessment is a synthesis of mathematical uncertainty modeling and simulation modeling, the former being constructed on the basis of the fuzzy set theory, the possibility theory, and time series forecasting methods. This part of the paper (Part I) presents a general theory for quantitative assessment of space hardware development project risks and theoretical basics for retrospective source data uncertainty modeling by counterpart products. A practical implementation of the presented results will make it possible to significantly improve the quality of the feasibility study of new home space hardware development projects.

Special Effects of Boundary Conditions on Distribution of Elastic-Viscous- Plastic Waves into Bars Made from Delayed Fluidity Material
Based on an electromechanical model of an ideal elastic-viscous-plastic material with delayed fluidity, the propagation of elastic-viscous-plastic waves through a semi-infinite bar is considered. The problem is solved in...
On the determination of the tether length for an experimental elec-trodynamic system
The aim of this paper is to analyze the dependence of the tether length of a small experimental electrody-namic space tether system (EDSTS) without additional contactors required for the EDSTS operation in the anode-cath...
Estimation of braking distances of electric train for emergency pneumatic and electric-pneumatic braking
A brief analysis of the results associated with studies of emergency braking a new-generation high-speed passenger train is provided. The braking system of railway rolling stock is one of the main systems providing the s...
Analysis of ways and models of deployment of space tethered systems
Space tethered systems consisting of satellites conducting with flexible wires (tethers) can form the basis for advanced facilities for removing space debris from near-earth orbit. This raises the question of the deploym...
Space debris: the aspects of the problem
The aim of this work is a system analysis of the engineering features of the deorbiting of space debris frag-ments. New results reflect a possibility to change the concept of near-Earth space debris mitigation from spac...
