On determination of the stress-strain state of a multi-wedge system with thin radial defects under antiplane deformation
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2010, Vol 1, Issue 5
Abstract
An elastic isotropic multi-wedge system with radially located thin defects under longitudinal shear is considered. The procedure of construction of asymptotics of the stress and displacement fields in the vicinity of the system apex using the apparatus of generalized functions and Mellin transform is presented. The notion of generalized stress intensity factor near the wedge system apex is introduced. The procedure proposed is applied to determine analytically the asymptotic distribution of stress and displacement fields in the three-wedge system peak. The generalized stress intensity factor near the three-wedge system apex is analyzed.

ANALYSIS OF STRONGLY NON-LINEAR FREE VIBRATIONS OF BEAMS USING PERTURBATION METHOD
The possibilities of application of the perturbation method to the analysis of strongly non-linear free vibrations of beams are discussed. The geometrical non-linearity is taken into account. The finite element method is...
EFFECT OF COCKELE SHELLS ON MORTARS PERFORMANCE IN EXTREME CONDITIONS
This paper studies the use of cockle shell as supplementary cementitious materials SCMs as substitute for cement. The cockle shells generally have a high CaO content which can alter the behavior and the properties of mor...
INFLUENCE OF SPACE-TIME HETEROGENEITY OF WATER CONSUMPTION CONDITIONS ON THE PARAMETERS OF A WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
The work presents the results of the analysis of an existing water supply system. It contains a description of the analysed area in which the analysed system was located, as well as its parameters regarding water intakes...
THE USE OF SODIUM PERCARBONATE IN THE FENTON REACTION FOR THE PAHS OXIDATION
The aim of the paper was to determine the effectiveness of the removal of 4, 5and 6 - ring PAHs from coking wastewater using sodium percarbonate Na2CO3∙1,5 H2O2 and iron sulphate in acid condition. The samples were expos...
Two-scale modelling of reactive powder concrete. Part I: representative volume element and solution of the corresponding boundary value problem
The article is the first part of a series concerned with the modelling of reactive powder concrete by using a numerical homogenization technique. This technique is a multi-scale modelling approach. Specifically, in this...
