ON THE LENGTH-SCALE EFFECT IN THE FREE VIBRATIONS OF PERIODICALLY RIBBED ELASTIC PLATES
Journal Title: ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF POLISH AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES - Year 2010, Vol 13, Issue 4
Abstract
The plates reinforced by ribs are being considered in the paper. For such plates, by assuming a periodic distribution of the ribs in the plate, the average model was being constructed, consisting the plate dynamics equations, which are the linear differential ones with constant coefficients. For modeling the olerance not asym ptotic averaging technique were used. Consequently, in the modeling equations, a microstructure parameter remains (basic cell size). In the paper the free vibrations of the consideration plates were tested and the presence of scale effect was demonstrated

EFFECT OF CULTIVAR, POSITION OF FRUITS IN TREE-CROWN AND OF SUMMER PRUNING ON SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF APPLES AND PEARS
Extensive studies (2006–2009) on the influence of apple and pear fruit surface temperature, in dependence on the fruit position in tree canopy and summer pruning, were conducted in a commercial orchard in Lublin district...
LONG-TERM CULTIVATION OF AN AEROBIC GRANULAR ACTIVATED SLUDGE
Aerobic granules were cultivated in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) fed with sucrose as a sole carbon source at superficial upflow air velocity of 1.9 cm/s and under an organic loading rate (OLR) of 2 g COD/L.d. This st...
MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF EARLY MEDIEVAL DOG SKULLS FROM POMERANIA ALLOWING FOR FOREHEAD POSITION INDEX AND DORSAL NOTCH OF THE FORAMEN MAGNUM
The study aimed at analysis of the metric traits of historic dog skulls allowing for the value of forehead position index as well as the presence or the lack of dorsal notch in the foramen magnum. Examinations included 2...
FREE VIBRATIONS OF TRANSVERSALLY GRADED PLATE BANDS
In this note free vibrations of a plate band with a smooth and a slow gradation of macroscopic properties called a transversally graded plate band have been analysed. In this contribution the tolerance and the asymptotic...
FLOW-PUMP TECHNIQUE AS A CONSTANT VELOCITY METHOD OF FLOW MEASURMENT IN SOFT ORGANIC SOILS
In this paper the results of the relationship between pore pressure differences and time obtained in laboratory flow-pump technique tests in soft organic soils are presented. The Soil-Water Characterist ic is necessary t...
