On the Main Results of Scientific Activity Institute of Archaeology Named After A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences in 2018

Abstract
The paper features the main results of the scientific activity of the Institute of Archaeology named after A. Kh. Khalikov” of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences – an academic organization which continues the traditions of national science in the field of historical and archaeological summarizing fundamental research. Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov is one of the three leading archaeological academic institutions in the European part of the Russian Federation and the only institution in the Volga region. The primary activity of the specialists of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov is the arrangement of archaeological, archaeographic, archaeometric and rescue field work. The result of his annual work is not only the acquisition of new unique scientific knowledge, but also the collection and storage of archival materials and documents, laboratory processing and analytical studies of ancient artifacts reflecting the cultural heritage of peoples living in the Republic of Tatarstan. The specialists of the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov are constantly working on the training of highly qualified scientific specialists, including students of postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and applicants for academic degrees, arranging the activity of specialized academic degree councils. Of great importance is the establishment of scientific publications by the Institute: publishing, issuing of journals, article collections, educational materials, abstracts of reports of International, All-Russian and Republican conferences.
