On the presence of Ptinus (Tectoptinus) tectus Boieldieu, 1856 (Coleoptera: Ptinidae) in Chile

Abstract
The distribution area of Ptinus (Tectoptinus) tectus Boieldieu, 1856 (Coleoptera: Ptinidae) in Chile is extended to the extreme south; a brief diagnosis of the species is given, and background information is provided on the substrates in which this introduced Ptininae, currently cosmopolitan in distribution, develops.
