On the Stability of a Class of Non-Ideal Systems
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2014, Vol 11, Issue 2
Abstract
A vibrating system is said ideal when its excitation is not influenced by the response of the system. When the excitation is influenced by the response of the system, the system is said non-ideal. A new degree of freedom is present in such systems, for which a new equation has to be added in order to describe how the energy source interacts with the vibrating system. The energy transfer is governed by the Sommerfeld effect which appears as a result of the law of energy conservation. In this paper, the response to vibrations of a class of non-ideal systems is analyzed. The coupling between the structure to a power source acts like a energy sink for which a part of the source energy is spend to deform the system rather than increasing the drive speed. The Sommerfeld effect involves on the one hand the vibration reduction and, on the other hand, a chaotic behavior with riddling bifurcation which explains the creation of the hyperchaotic attractors.

Methods of Simulation for Dynamic Systems with Friction
In this paper the contact/impact between two bodies is accentuated by simulations using the ANSYS code. In the present study has been selected the ANSYS/LS-DYNA code because it is used in the simulation of contact/impact...
An Analysis of the Dynamic Behavior of Circular Plates from a Damage Detection Perspective
This paper presents a study regarding the dynamics of thin circular plates, embedded on the circumference. A finite element analysis (FEA) as well as analytical investigations is performed, and the results in terms of fr...
Researches Regarding the Effect of Nitinol Vibration Damper Applied to Infrastructures
Many of the performed researches all around the world aim to develop advanced technologies in order to enhance the performances of the infrastructure systems, different from the actual ones, fact which involves multidisc...
The Study of the Vibrations and Noises of a Stand with Planetary Mechanism used in the Power Sources Coupling
In this paper we present in the first stage the components of an experimental stand that couples a source of thermal energy and two sources of electric energy. The experimental determinations have as main goal the determ...
The Motion of a Rigid Body with a Point Constrained to Move on a Fixed Given Surface Using a Multibody Approach
In this paper we discuss the problem of a rigid body having a point constrained to move without friction on a fixed given surface. Firstly, using Bryan’s angles, we deduce the kinematic relations between different parame...
