Onychomycosis in Children after a Summer Flu

Abstract

Onychomycosis in children is rare.We introduce 6 children aged from 1 to 3 years of agewith distal subungual onychomycosisafter summer flu caused by Coxsackievirus. The description of this rare nail complicationaims to broader the differential diagnosis in casesof nail pathologyin young children andopens a discussion on therapeutic options in such cases.
