OPEN-UNDERGROUND (COMBINED) COAL DEPOSITS DEVELOPMENT METHOD ENVIRONMENT EFFECT

Abstract

In the Russian Federation, 2017 is declared as the Year of Ecology. The relevance of environmentalissues is evident for the Kemerovo region, especially if we take into account the fact that most of the country's coal enterprises are concentrated in the Kuzbass. Current coal production growth rates in the Kuzbass with the prevalence of open coal mining (64% of total production) lead to an intensive development of ecological and social catastrophe in the region. The increase of underground coal mining part by construction of underground mines for the coal reserves inal extraction (open-underground mining) would signiicantly reduce the negative impact on the environment.Currently, much attention is paid to assessing the impact of open and underground mining on the environment, so it will be relevant to review the environmental damage caused by the open-underground (combined) method of coal deposit development. The analysis of open and underground methods environmental factors and production experience of Kuzbass coal deposits development by open-underground method influence is carried out.Negative environmental factors have been identiied for each method from the classiication cited in the article. lt is substantiated that a successive open-underground method for Kuzbass is the most acceptable, in comparison with the underground-open method and simultaneous (joint) development both from an environmental and technological point of view. Simultaneous development by open and underground methods
