OPTICAL OBSERVATIONS OF SMALL SPACECRAFT AND SPACE DEBRIS AT ISTP SB RAS SAYAN OBSERVATORY
Journal Title: Solar-Terrestrial Physics - Year 2019, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
Launch of several thousands of small spacecraft as part of satellite groups of various companies (OneWeb, SpaceX, etc.) is expected in the coming years. They will significantly increase the “population” in the low-orbit region. The spacecraft are designed mainly to provide telecommunications and remote sensing of Earth from space. They have a short lifetime. The use of high-speed sCMOS (scientific complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) detectors in combination with medium diameter optical telescopes provides high temporal resolution, which allows us to get detailed brightness light curves and to estimate the state of small spacecraft. We present the technique and results of photometric measurements of small spacecraft obtained with the 1.6-meter AZT-33IK telescope of ISTP SB RAS Sayan Solar Observatory. Photometric measurements are shown to be an important source of information at various operational stages of satellites.

SIGNS OF ANOMALOUS BEHAVIOR OF THE IONOSPHERE IN 2003–2014 AT F1-LAYER HEIGHTS OVER IRKUTSK
We have detected an anomalous electron density Ne increase in winter months in Irkutsk in some years of the period 2003–2014. This effect was manifested when we compared the experimental values obtained by the Irkutsk io...
FEATURES OF NE RECOVERY AT THE IRKUTSK INCOHERENT SCATTER RADAR
The article presents a new method of restoring the electron density profile (Ne) according to data from the Irkutsk Incoherent Scatter Radar (IISR). This method has been developed taking into account the Faraday rotation...
OFFSETS IN THE GEOMAGNETIC INDICES OF THE MAGNETOSPHERIC RING CURRENT
The paper considers changes in the daily average values of the Dst, SYM-H, ASY-H, and ASY-D indices and their dependence on the level of magnetic disturbance for the period 1981–2016. These indices are geomagnetic charac...
STATISTICAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN VARIATIONS OF THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD, AURORAL ELECTROJET, AND GEOMAGNETICALLY INDUCED CURRENTS
Using observations from the IMAGE magnetic observatories and the station for recording geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) in the electric transmission line in 2015, we examine relationships between geomagnetic field...
PECULIARITIES OF SPORADIC VARIATIONS IN DENSITY AND ANISOTROPY OF GALACTIC COSMIC RAYS IN SOLAR CYCLE 24
In this work, we have processed data from the global network of neutron monitors and muon telescopes by the global survey method to study variations in the density and anisotropy of galactic cosmic rays during Forbush de...
