OPTICALLY ACTIVE BISMUTH HETEROBIMETALLIC COMPLEXES CONTAINING ALKALI METAL-CAPPED BINAPHTHOXIDE LIGATION
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2011, Vol 15, Issue 2
Abstract
The reaction of monometallated (Li, Na, K) (R)-2,2’-dihydroxy-1,1’-binaphthyl (BINOL) with [Bi(OBut)3] affords optically pure bismuth tris(binaphthoxides) with three capping Group I counterions. The stable monomeric complexes have been characterised in solution and the solid state and exhibit structural features similar to previously reported lanthanide analogues. The solution and solid state analysis are reported as well as the catalytic application of the complexes to an asymmetric Michael addition reaction. NMR analysis suggests the octahedral structure is maintained in solution, and the moderate stability of the complexes in the solid state allows for handling under ambient conditions without significant decomposition. The title complexes effectively catalyze the Michael addition of dimethyl malonate to cylohexenone, albeit with minimal chiral induction.

RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF MINERAL OIL
In this article presents us rheological behavior of mineral oil. Apparent viscosity of mineral oil was determined at temperatures between 400C-900C and shear rates ranging from 3.3-120s-1. This study is to find a polynom...
NUMERAL SYSTEMS OF GREAT ANCIENT HUMAN CIVILIZATIONS
We present here a systematic study of numeral systems of world’s renowned ancient human civilizations. We discuss their important properties regarding number of different symbols, base, positional or place-value characte...
OPTIMALITY IN NONDIFFERENTIAL MULTIOBJECTIVE PROGRAMMING
This paper is concerning on the multiobjective programming problem where the function involved are nondifferentiable. We present and prove the sufficient conditions for a feasible point to be weakly efficient. Our resear...
MAGNETIC BEHAVIOUR OF Co IN YCo4-xCuxB COMPOUNDS
The RCo4B compounds, where R is a rare-earth or yttrium crystallize in a hexagonal structure of CeCo4B-type. In this lattice, the R atoms are located in 1a and 1b sites, Co in 2c and 6i sites and B in 2d positions. The m...
