Optimal Unit Commitment for Thermal Power Plants using Combined Fuzzy Logic and Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm Method
Journal Title: روش های هوشمند در صنعت برق - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 35
Abstract
In this paper, the thermal unit commitment is solved by using combined fuzzy logic and Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm, in which the minimum and maximum generation constraints, minimum up/down-time constraints, starting time, spinning reserve, and so on are considered. Fuzzy logic is used to reduce the production time of the ON/OFF cycle durations of each unit in the feasible solutions. Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm is used to optimize the results. Using the proposed method reduces the computation time and also the generation cost. The simulation has been done in the MATLAB software environment, and as its results compared with some other intelligent algorithms including Lagrange Relaxation (LR), Integer-Coded Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Bacterial Foraging (BF) for improvements in generation cost and problem solving time is shown. This method has the ability to develop solving unit commitment in different dimensions with considering constraints and limits.

In this paper, a novel microstrip-line Ultra Wide Band (UWB) band-pass filter using two symmetric Multi – Mode Resonators (MMR) loaded with step impedance stub, is designed, analyzed and simulated. The proposed MMR, comp...
Outage Probability of Cognitive Relay Network Considering the Interference from Primary Users on the Secondary Relay and Reciver
Cognitive Relay network is a plan to remove some problem such as the limited Coverage and limited spectrum. This strategy permit secondary users to use a frequency band( spectrum), which is dedicated to the primary users...
A New Approach in Designing Multi-Layer Frequency Selective Surfaces based on Tuning Pole-Zeros of Individual Layers
In this paper, a new approach (not new technique) is introduced for designing frequency selective surfaces (FSSs). We try to compose the desired frequency response using the frequency response of each constituent FSS. Al...

In this paper, a decentralized adaptive controller with using wavelet neural network is used for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems with time- delay unknown nonlinear non- affine subsystems. The entered interruptio...
A Review on Fault Detection and Diagnosis Methods in Distribution Power Networks
Fault detection and diagnosis algorithms are the methods whose function is determining the fault point in a system according to pre-faulting and post-faulting conditions, and fault detector is a part of system which perf...
