Optimization of Conditions for in vitro Production of Fructooligosaccride using Aureobasidium pullullans
Journal Title: Scholars Academic Journal of Biosciences - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Abstract: Oligosaccharides are very well recognized as ‘functional food ingredients’ because of their positive effects on human health. This research work focuses on the microbial production of Fructosyl Transferase (FTase) and the production of Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) by transfructosylation using this enzyme. Fructooligosaccharides are industrially produced from sucrose by microbial enzymes with transfructosylating activity. Fructosyltransferase is produced intra- and extracellulraly by several microorganisms including bacteria and fungi. Despite the large number of microbial FTase producers, only a few of them have the potential for industrial application and were focused in several studies about FOS production. The increasing interest in prebiotic compounds opens also possibilities for small-scale use of FTase. In the present study fungus Aureobasidium pullulans was used to produce FOS and effect of different physical and chemical parameters on FOS production were studied. The analysis of the product was performed by High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Keywords: Fructooligosaccharide, FOS, Fructosyl transferase enzyme, HPLC, Probiotics, Aureobasidium pullulans

Inhibitory activity of Usnea pictoides G. Awasthi (Parmeliaceae) against urinary tract isolates
The genus Usnea (Parmeliaceae) is one of the best studied lichen genera. The present study aimed at determining inhibitory potential of Usnea pictoides G. Awasthi against bacterial isolates from urinary tract infections....
Primary Tonsillar Tuberulosis: a case report
Primary tuberculosis of tonsil is extremely rare and is often mistaken for malignancy, although tuberculosis infection is widespread in all parts of world especially in southeast Asia and Africa. We present a case of ton...
Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) Infiltrating Pleura: A Bad Prognostic Sign: Case Report with Review of Literature
Pleural effusion in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is poorly understood and rarely reported in the literature. CML has been reported to show extra medullary involvement in only 10% cases that involves lymph nodes and spl...
Information condition of dog’s skin at different pathologies
We investigated the information state of the skin of dogs with benign and malignant tumors. It was revealed that in all studied types of tumors information system of the skin becomes simpler, and as a result, increases i...
Prediction of Disease Severity by Beta 2 Microglobulin Levels In Hodgkin Lymphoma
Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) also known as Hodgkin lymphoma or Hodgkin's disease is a type of lymphoma, in which cancer originates from a specific type of white blood cells, called B lymphocytes. When lymph nodes of Hodgkin’s...
