Optimization of Excavation Method for Shallow Buried Tunnel Under-passing Highway with Large Pipe Curtain Construction

Abstract

Based on the project of DK3 + 538 ~ DK3 + 588 tunnel section lower crossing G5001 high speed public road in Chongqing railway hub east ring road Xinbaiyangwan tunnel, the optimization of excavation method for large pipe curtain construction under shallow tunnel was studied. By using MIDAS-GTS NX software, three-dimensional finite element model of tunnel was built. Four different excavation schemes such as two-step method, two-step reserved core soil method, three-step method and three-step reserved core soil method were calculated. Comparing the calculated values with the field measured data, the method correctness was verified. Through the comprehensive analysis of surface settlement, surrounding rock deformation, surrounding rock stress and the variation law of supporting structure stress, the two-step method based on the project is an economically optimization construction plan.
