OPTIMIZATION OF THE ENERGY SOURCE OF MICROWAVES CULTIVATION PROCESS

Abstract

In recent years, in Ukraine, as well as in many countries of Europe, Asia and America, mass cultivation of microalgae has been widely developed for use in the national economy. In this regard, chlorella and spirulina are of the greatest interest. A large number of proteins, vitamins and chlorophyll puts chlorella and spirulina in one row with highly nourishing animal and poultry feeds. In nature, microalgae are very common, but their performance is low. When creating optimal growing conditions, they can produce high yields. Experiments have established that the main parameters determining the intensity of algae growing are: temperature of the suspension, irradiation regime, composition and concentration of the nutrient medium, concentration of C02 in the bubbling air. To assess the energy efficiency of the process of cultivation of microalgae in wastewater, the study of temperature and irradiation regimes and their optimization has developed an experimental deep-type cultivator. A characteristic feature of the cultivator, which allows to increase its performance, is the use of immersed mobile sources of optical radiation. Conducted studies of the dependence of the growth rate of microalgae on the temperature of the suspension. It is established that fluctuations in the temperature of the suspension at the optimum of more than 1 ° C, can lead to a significant decrease in the growth rate of microalgae. Thus, with an irradiance of 60 W / m2 and a temperature of 36 ° C, the growth rate decreases by 8%, and with an irradiance of 80 W / m2 and a temperature of 37.5°C, by 10% of its maximum value. For the purpose of studying the thermal stabilization system, the following were determined: the specific power of the system necessary to maintain the desired temperature of the suspension; the effect of daily suspension costs on the power of the instantaneous water heater; dependences of the heating time of the microalgae suspension on the power of the heating elements of the instantaneous water heater. It was established experimentally that with the same values of irradiance, the frequency of rotation of radiation sources and biomass density, the growth rate when using immersed lamps is 1.5-2.0 times higher than when the culture is irradiated with external sources. Moreover, the higher the frequency of rotation of the sources, the greater this difference.
