Oral hygiene was assessed with the OHI-S index, dental caries with DMFT and Treatment Index, and periodontal status was determined with the CPITN index and the degree of gingival hyperplasia. Results: Insufficientoralhygienewasfoundin27patients. The OHI-S index was the highest in group <1 year after kidney transplantation. Mean DMFT value was 14.9 and was the lowest in group <1 year post-transplant.Conclusion: High number of renal transplant patients who manifest negligence in their oral health indicates the need for special dental care and oral hygiene education.
