Organizational changes in a public hospital – a case study

Abstract
The study attempts to identify the organizational changes in one of the independentpublic health care facilities in the context of organizational efficiency. The assessmentswere based on the technique of participant observation, analysis of hospital recordsand interviews with the management and employees. The results showed that theorganizational changes carried out in the hospital after 2005 have significantlycontributed to the increased level of organizational efficiency, manifested among otherthings in the greater availability and quality of services. At the same time it should benoted that the process was quite long (lasted almost 5 years) and extremely difficultdue to numerous dismissals of staff accompanying organizational changes.
