Abstract

Organizations in today’s era must have the capability for innovations and changes, not only to achieve prosperity, but also to survive in a world of increasing competition. The international economic integration, the maturing of the domestic market, the transition to capitalism in former communist regions, and globalization of the economy, affecting every area of business and creating dangers, opportunities and possibilities. In order to recognize and suppress the risk and take advantage of existing opportunities, today’s organizations undertake dramatic changes in all spheres of activity. Organizations that invest most of their time and resources to maintain the “status quo “, they can not expect the achievement of prosperity in today’s world of constant changes and uncertainty. It should be noted that in the information era, intellectual property of the organization (knowledge , information, ... ) has greater significance than its tangible assets. In addition to personnel, finance and production capacity, the main resource essential for adjustment is primarily organizational structure. For the successful functioning and development, organizations must have adequate communication with all sectors of the domain and acquire information that will allow timely to find out actual changes in this domain to be able to adapt itself to that, and predict changes in the domain that could actively direct development and functioning of organization in a dynamic environment. To carry out the processes, activities and tasks effectively and efficiently, and to capture the full picture of the organization and environment, organizations need to develop information systems which have a key role in the development and functioning.
