Over-Indebtedness of Households in Poland and its Determinants

Journal Title: Acta Scientiarum Polonorum. Oeconomia - Year 2016, Vol 15, Issue 4

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify determinants of over-indebtedness of Polish households, measured by negative margin. The method of logistic regression was applied in order to achieve the main objective of the study. The source material was individual data of the Household Budget Survey in 2011. The survey was conducted by Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS). The research results show that over-indebtedness of Polish households, measured by negative margin, is most influenced by: the age and education level of the household head, belonging to a socio-economic group, biological type of family and household income.
