Overview of craniosynostosis
Journal Title: Hellenic Journal of Radiology - Year 2018, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Although craniosynostosis is a well-described entity, advances in genetics and radiology equipment have brought to light new evidence, which can possibly change the imaging approach. A number of genes and mutations related to the disorder have been indentified, whereas foetal MRI appears to be quite reliable in the clarification of fetal ultrasound findings. This article includes the latest medical literature data on craniosynostosis with emphasis to those concerning or even affecting diagnostic imaging. It appears that cranial ultrasound and foetal MRI, along with specific MRI techniques for the skull, will be the future in the imaging of craniosynostosis. Literature data on the normal sutures' anatomy, as well as on the disorder's classification, aetiology and treatment, have also been included.

Pulmonary Sarcoidosis: Spectrum of imaging findings
Sarcoidosis is a systemic chronic inflammatory disorder of unknown aetiology, characterised by non-caseating epithelioid cell granulomas. A diagnosis of the disease requires compatible clinical and imaging findings, supp...
An Introduction to Radiomics: Capturing Tumour Biology in Space and Time
Currently, there is a shift from visual interpretation of medical images, which is highly variable, to the extraction of high-dimensional meaningful data the so called Radiomic signatures that can be used in conjunction...
The impact of integrated circuit detector technology in routine MDCT: Improved image quality compared to conventional detector design for constant SSDE
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the image quality and radiation dose of routine CT scans acquired with a third-generation scanner built with integrated circuit detector technology (StellarĀ®-detector) to tho...

Feasibility of a double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction can be predicted by anthropometric and skeletal parameters: An MR imaging study
Purpose: To evaluate the rate of anatomic restrictions on MR imaging which may prevent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) double-bundle reconstruction (DBr) technique. The hypothesis was that some patients may not meet the...
