Journal Title: Journal of IMAB - Annual Proceeding (Scientific Papers) - Year 2013, Vol 19, Issue 3

The aim of this study was to explore the efficacy and safety of this chemotherapy regimen in the treatment of patient with advanced colorectal cancer. Methods: From January 2008 to May 2010 twenty six consecutive patients with advanced colorectal cancer entered the study. Treatment schedule consist of intravenous Oxaliplatin 80 mg/m2 on day 1, Leucovorin 200 mg/m2 administered as intravenous infusion on day 1 and 2 and 5- Fluorouracil 400 mg/m2 bolus followed by 5- Fluorouracil 600 mg/m2 as 22- hours infusion with repetition every two weeks. Results: Overall response rate was 34,6% with one complete response and eight partial responses achieved. The overall survival time was 12,6 months. The main toxicity observed were leukopenia and diarrhea. Conclusions: That data suggest that chemotherapy with Oxaliplatin/ 5- Fluorouracil/ Leucovorin remain reasonable chemotherapy regimen for the treatment of patients with advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer.
