Paget disease of skeleton – Pictorial essay
Journal Title: Journal of Medical and Scientific Research - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
Paget disease involving the skeleton is considered to be rare in India. It may involve any part of the skeleton from head to toe. Conventional radiology is the best mode of investigation depending upon the bone involved the usual symptoms include pain, swelling and deformity. Radiological features and complications are universal as in other countries. Bone scanning is the final word to determine whether Paget is monostotic or polyostotic. A viral theory has been proposed but no exact etiology is established so far.
