Paradigm Shift of the Strategy on Diabetic Nephropathy in Recent Decade

Abstract
Almost 20 years ago, it was reported that pancreas transplantation can reverse the lesions of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 1 diabetes [1] and intensive blood-glucose control decreases the risk of microvascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes in 1998.
