Pareto-optimal solutions of the inverse problem of gravimetry with indeterminate a priori information
Journal Title: Геофизический журнал - Year 2015, Vol 37, Issue 5
Abstract
The paper discusses theoretical aspects of solving the nonlinear inverse problem of gravimetry with uncertainty of a priori information. The a priori information is described by fuzzy sets. Special-purpose geophysical problem with uncertain a priori information is transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem. One of the criteria is the membership function of a fuzzy set of possible solutions. Solution of the problem is a set of Pareto-optimal solutions, which is constructed in the parametric space applying a three-step search algorithm. The advantage of the proposed method is that it provides a possibility of including the wide range of non-probabilistic a priori information in the inversion procedure and can be applied to the solution of highly nonlinear problems. This reduces the number of direct computing problems by selective modeling of sample points in the parametric space. A test example has been given of the algorithm applied to the inverse problem of gravimetry for a single contact surface.

Velocity models of the upper mantle of the continental and oceanic rifts
The 1-D velocity models of longitudinal seismic waves distribution for the upper mantle of the continent rift systems which directly border with the mid-oceanic ridges (MOR) are constructed. A difference in the models be...
Combination of improved acquisition system, processing, velocity model and migration for seismic imaging in areas of intense salt tectonics
Various types of hydrocarbon traps associated with intensively developed salt bodies cannot be reliably delineated and then successfully explored by drilling without first obtaining adequate seismic images. This paper sh...
Analysis of stress-strain state of Caucasus region (Azerbaijan) on the basis of maximum horizontal stress vectors and "World Stress Map" application technique
The influence of topographic anomaly of the relief on the stress-strain state of the Caucasus lithosphere (Azerbaijan) and plotting the respective models have been considered in the paper. Stress-strain state was studied...
