Journal Title: REVISTA DE ANÁLISIS ECONÓMICO Y FINANCIERO - Year 2021, Vol 4, Issue 2

Abstract

The inclusion of women in management positions in companies has increased over time, women represent a significant percentage of the global workforce, their presence in senior business management positions is high and is distributed mostly to intermediate positions within organizations. Peru is representative of this reality, so a study applied to a number of employees of companies in Metropolitan Lima was proposed to analyze the opinion on the participation of women in business management. There was a sample of 46 company employees to whom a survey was applied as a data collection instrument, which consisted of seven questions; three of multiple answers and four dichotomous with affirmative and negative options. The data was processed using descriptive statistics and contrasted with those obtained by other authors. It was found that the factors that most influence the presence of female company managers are the myth related to gender stereotypes. It was observed that the main impact has been the reduction of the prevailing gender gap in the companies and that this could cause a greater sustainability of the same over time, in accordance with the general opinion that evidenced the increase in the profitability of the companies. .
