Patriotyzm według Józefa Marii Bocheńskiego

Abstract
The aim of the article is to draw attention to the problem of patriotism as it was perceived by Józef Maria Bocheński – a Polish philosopher, priest, and soldier. First, the figure of J. M. Bocheński is concisely sketched, as well as his reminiscences from childhood – evoking among other his parents and sib¬lings. Then, the understanding of patriotism in the pre-1939 Poland is pre¬sented since it influenced Bocheński’s views in that area. Next, following Bocheński’s texts, the structure of patriotism is shown, including its multi-layered characteristic and the duties each man has towards his country. In the conclusion it is put forward that the article is an attempt to reconstruct only a little part of the rich work of the thinker.
