PECULIARITIES OF GUM EPITHELIAL CELL DIFFERENTIATION IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE COMORBID WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE

Abstract
The article presents results of the examination of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) cases which are comorbid with coronary heart disease (CHD). It is known that organs and tissues of the oral cavity in this category of patients are long-term controlled exposed to inhaled drugs, which contributes to the development and progression of pathological changes. Both of diseases have direct effect on periodontal tissue manifesting with cell such as impairment of epithelial cell differentiation. The goal was to research the frequency and nature of epithelial cell in patients with COPD comorbid with CHD. We examined 239 patients with verified diagnosis of COPD and CHD. They were divided in groups depending on the underlying disease: the main group - 130 patients with COPD comorbid with CHD, comparison group №1 - 38 patients with COPD and comparison group № 2 -71 patients diagnosed with CHD. The results of the study indicate that the most significant changes were found in patients with comorbid broncho-cardiac pathology and they display stereotypical features of chronic inflammation.
