Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of the peculiarities of providing and protecting the children’s rights by the precinct police officer. The article considers some gaps in the legislation of Ukraine regarding the protection of the children’s rights during domestic violence. Considered signs of physical, psychological, economic and sexual abuse of a child, what should be paid attention by the precinct police officer while communicating with the child in his day-to-day official activities. In the article attention is accented on that aim of realization the individual-preventive work of policeman, it is non-admission the commission of offences (criminal or administrative) by persons that are apt to commission and education of such persons in a spirit to respect the law and change their antisocial looks. The task of precinct officer to the police on realization of individual- preventive work with persons committing home violence, is the early detection of families where there is a threat of violence; eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to domestic violence or limiting their impact; providing assistance to victims of violence, creating conditions for protection from violent attacks for each member of the family; taking measures for a person who commits domestic violence, educational and preventive character, and so on. As practice shows, today about half of family-friendly conflicts remain latent until the moment of committing a crime so victims do not wish, and mostly feel shy to report about the facts of home violence, do not believe in the possibility of real help from law enforcement. Therefore, one of the main tasks of the police in counteracting violence is to explain to the public that concealment of such facts is a mistake and makes it possible to commit more serious crimes in the future. Also, a number of myths that exist in society that are sometimes diverging from facts about child abuse are highlighted and reviewed.
