PERCEPTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN SMEs IN THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN BLACK SEA

Abstract

This study focuses on renewable energy trends in Central and Eastern Black Sea SMEs businesses in major cities in the region. 92 Medium SMEs enterprises in the area of Samsun, Ordu and Trabzon Metropolitan cities have been contacted through face-to-face and online interviews, which produced striking results. The data obtained in this study were analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) using the program for Windows 22.0. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage and mean standard deviation were used as descriptive statistical methodologies. For the comparison of continuous quantitative data among more than two independent groups Unidirectional (One way) ANOVA test was used. The Scheffe Test, a post-hoc analysis, was used as complementary post-test to determine the differences. The correlation analysis was applied between continuous variables in this study. The findings were understood to be at 5% significance level in the 95% confidence interval. The results of the research led to creating a map showing renewable energy trends in the Metropolitan cities of Samsun, Ordu and Trabzon in Central and Eastern Black Sea Region. As a result, it is seen that majority of the businesses have the awareness of renewable energy. It is found that there is a search for appropriate grounds to make investments related to renewable energy. It is understood that more needs to be done by the Government mechanism to encourage SMEs businesses.
